about our wonderful inn

The Red Lion is situated in Gillingham, a town and civil parish in the Blackmore Vale area of Dorset. Jan and Gaz welcome you to this old coaching inn which boasts beautiful wooden ceiling beams, as well as a wood burner and separate dining area.

The pub also has a lovely garden with plenty of seating.

As well as food and drink, the pub offers Sky Sports, BT Sports, WiFi and is very dog friendly.

Monday to Thursday 11am – 11pm
Friday to Saturday 11am – 2am
Sunday 12pm – 11pm

Our Menu

Our food menu has something for everyone and is packed full of traditional pub favourites.

A range of starters is complemented by main dishes ranging from fish & chips, sausage and mash and steak & Tanglefoot pie, to chicken jalfrezi, ribs and a choice of delicious burgers and hot dogs.

We are also pleased to offer Senior Citizens special meals on a selected range of dishes at lunchtimes only from Tuesday to Thursday, each at £4.99.

In addition, we have a range of subs and baguettes, specifically designed to appeal to those with less time on their hands, as well as separate children’s meals for the younger members of your party.

We offer a range of traditional Badger Ales and Lagers from our local brewery Hall and Woodhouse, which is only a short distance from the pub.
